This programme will interweave two gripping stories: the dramatic tales of Arthur and his champions will illuminate the contemporary quest by historians and archaeologists to establish conclusively whether or not a warrior King named Arthur did indeed exist and struggle to unite Britain in the depths of the Dark Ages.
