Where do I start What if Im doing it wrong How do I even use these new supplies If you are anything like me, this is the point when youd tuck those supplies into a drawer for a day when you felt a little braver, a little freer.


As Ive moved through my illustration journey, Ive had to find a way to create a safe space, where I felt free to try new materials, make a mess, and make mistakes. And that started with Acrylic Gouache.

In this class, Ill share this approach to mix media with you. Its an approach based in curiosity, observation, and nurturing your creative spirit. Well embark on 7 different mixed media adventures, each focused on a different material and its properties. Well follow prompts to uncover all the secrets of each new medium and apply what weve learned to a small, quick project. 

This is not a class about advanced techniques but about observing and responding to what we see. Together well build our observational skills and our confidence to try new things so that we can approach each new painting with excitement. And so that we can take those exciting new supplies out of their drawers.
