Iolo Williams explores Pembrokeshire's stunning landscape and goes in search of its hidden wildlife spots. This south west corner of Wales is famous for its rugged coastline, off-shore islands and ancient history, but within its borders there are other less well-known locations with great wildlife waiting to be discovered.

Chapter 1.
Iolo visits a beautiful bluebell wood in Slebech Park and observes fascinating insects and badgers living there. An old oil storage site near Pembroke has been left to nature. Now, it is a surprising place to find hundreds of colourful orchids and silver-studded blue butterflies. Iolo also walks round St David's Head, where he finds fearsome-looking beetles and Britain's only venomous snake.

Chapter 2.
Iolo searches the lower slopes of the Preseli Mountains and finds newly arrived migrant birds, including one which nests under rocks. He also hunts for the mesmerizing lights produced by glow worms near Martin's Haven, and he experiences a real treat, watching an iconic nocturnal bird, the barn owl, hunt over rough grassland at dusk.

Chapter 3.
Iolo explores a wetland oasis for insects which are masters of flight: dragonflies. He finds cave-nesting birds and gets closer than ever to a hunting kestrel near Ceibwr Bay. A flash of blue reveals a kingfisher's nesting site, and Iolo also sets up camp in a hide to try to spot the often-elusive otter along the Eastern Cleddau river.

Chapter 4.
Iolo goes birdwatching on the Gann Estuary and is amazed at the many different species of birds hunting fish together in a lagoon, including exotic-looking little egrets which are becoming more common. Much rarer is the osprey, but the estuary is a good place to try to spot one. Iolo also walks a section of the stunning coast path and finds a good spot to observe seal pups without disturbing them at Aber Felin Bay. And in the Gwaun Valley, he discovers cave spiders.
