Parallel lines are equally spaced lines that never meet. As artists, we can take this concept and play with it! Lines can be any shape, color, or texture. We can play with the thicknesses, vibrancy, and gradients while still maintaining that constant space between lines. And, we can also be loose with the term line. Todays class explores the notion of parallel lines, but allows for variations in placement, distance, color, and other aesthetics of the lines. Theres beauty in the consistent space that separates the lines, or in an artists view, the space between similar objects. Is it quantity of lines or repetition Or, something different entirely Class examines these properties in 2 parts: Creating swatch cards and then painting a final design.
